Welcome to the Wu Lab

      We are interested in important pathways maintaining organelle homeostasis in healthy cells, and its relevance to the pathogenesis of major diseases like Neurodegenerative Diseases and Metabolic Diseases. Specifically, we focus on unraveling the cellular and molecular mechanism regulating protein homeostasis and lipid metabolism (See Research for more details). We firmly believe a deep mechanistic understanding of those pathways will ultimately lead to novel therapeutics to combat diseases. 

What do we do?

         We will leverage our state-of-the-art expertise in membrane protein biochemistry, structural biology & protein engineering, coupled with cell biology and chemical biology approaches to address fundamental biological questions, and create novel therapeutic modalities in the meantime.
